Hernia<\/h2>\n

In most cases, there are no symptoms, although swelling or lump is noticeable in your tummy or groin.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Types<\/span> <\/span><\/h2>\n

Inguinal hernias – <\/strong>the most common type of hernia, mainly affects men and occurs when fatty tissue or a part of your bowel drives through into your groin.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Umbilical hernias<\/strong> – occur when part of your bowel or fatty tissue pokes through the tummy nearer to your belly button.<\/span><\/p>\n

This hernia can occur in babies.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Hiatal hernia –<\/strong> a portion of the abdomen pushes upwards into the chest cavity by an opening in the diaphragm.
