Stomach cancer

Stomach cancer is the growth of cells in the stomach, also known as gastric Cancer. It occurs in any part of the stomach and is more likely to start at the gastroesophageal junction.

The cure is most likely triumphant if the Cancer is only in the stomach.

Stomach cancer symptoms

Signs and symptoms may include:

  • Problem with swallowing
  • Stomach ache
  • Sensing bloating after having a meal
  • Feeling whole after consuming small amounts of food
  • Heartburn
  • Indigestion
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Losing weight without trying
  • Feeling exhausted
  • Black stools
Stomach cancer doesn’t usually cause signs in its initial stages. When they ensure, symptoms might include indigestion and ache in the upper part of the belly. 

Latter stages of stomach cancer might cause signs such as fatigue, involuntary weight loss, vomiting blood, and having black stools.

Stomach cancer spreads to other body parts and is called metastatic stomach cancer. It causes symptoms specific to where it applies. For example, Cancer extending to the liver might cause yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes. Cancer spreads within the belly; it might cause fluid to fill the stomach. The abdomen might look swollen.

When to seek medical aid

  • Sick for more than two days
  • Difficulties in swallowing
  • A lump in your stomach
  • Lost weight over the last 6 to 12 months involuntarily
  • Symptoms with your digestion are not getting better after two weeks of using the usual treatments

    Prevention

    Follow these things to lessen your risk of developing stomach cancer:

    • Consume a lot of fruits and veggies. Pick a selection of fruit and vegetable colors
    • Limit your intake of smoked and salty foods
    • Smoking raises your risk of developing stomach cancer and several other cancers. Ask your doctor for assistance if you need it because quitting smoking can be tricky
    • In case stomach cancer runs in your family, let your doctor know. People with a strong family history of stomach cancer may undergo screening for the disease
