Liver disease
Numerous different types of liver disease are present. You can control some of them by holding a healthy weight and staying within the suggested alcohol limits.
Types
Some common types of liver disease include:
- Alcohol-related liver disease
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Hepatitis
- Hemochromatosis
- Primary biliary cirrhosis
Cause
Each type of liver disease holds peculiar causes with them. Some of the most common causes include:
- Consuming too much alcohol regularly
- Being obese – causes fat acclimation buildup in the liver
- Catching a viral infection frequently
- Heredity – gene runs in families
- Weakened immune system
Symptoms
Most liver disease types do not possess any symptoms in the early stages. Once you get signs of liver disease, your liver will be in the secondary location, damaged and scarred; this is cirrhosis.

You have liver damage (cirrhosis) signs, such as:
- Exhausted and tired most of the time
- Loss of appetite – leading to weight loss
- Low sex drive (libido)
- Jaundice
Other symptoms may enclose itchy skin or feel sick.
Preventing liver disease
The three main reasons for liver disease are:
- Alcohol misuse
- Obesity
- Hepatitis infection
You can lessen your risk of liver disease with some simple lifestyle modifications such as:
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Control while drinking too much alcohol
Vaccinations are available for hepatitis A and hepatitis B. The doctor suggests these vaccines only if you’re at risk.
