Prepare The Self Blood Testing Kit
- In your self blood testing kit you might have a yellow tube, purple tube, or both. Open the tubes and place them in the holes in the box.
- Prepare the plaster and get some tissues.
- Soak your non-dominant hand in warm water for a few minutes.

Where to prick
Using the alcohol swab provided, wipe your ring finger on your non-dominant hand and then dry with a clean tissue. The best place to prick your finger is on the outer center of the finger tip. Some people prefer to prick their pinkie. This is absolutely fine.

Use the lancet
To use the lancet you have to twist and pull out the blue pin to reveal the prick.Put your hand down flat against a hard surface with your palm facing up. While standing up, press the lancet against your finger. Wipe away the first drop of blood with a clean tissue.

Massage Hand
Massage your hand down starting from the palm to the end of your finger. Make sure you don’t squeeze too hard or too close to the piercing! If the flow stops, re-pierce with another lancet on another finger or the same one.

Fill & Invert
There could be up to 2 tubes in your kit. A yellow cap and a purple cap. If you have both fill the yellow first. Yellow Cap: Fill to the 600 line. Don’t be alarmed if the blood clots.Purple Cap: Fill to the 250 line. Press the caps down until they click, gently invert the tubes 10 times but do not shake! Make sure you mix the purple tube first if you have one.

Fill labels and attach label to tubes.




Put the tubes in the plastic protective case and then place them in the bag provided.




Log in to the dashboard to let us know when to collect the sample by clicking on ‘collect my kit’.
Once the blood is collected and the kit is packed, please keep it in room temperature (below 25 degrees Celsius) until collection.
Same day collections are possible if you make your booking before 10:00 am. If you have taken the sample, but unable to book collection on the same day, please make the booking for the following day. This delay will not impact the results.
