Ejaculation Problems

Men frequently experience issues with ejaculation.

The three primary categories of evacuation issues are:

  • Premature ejaculation
  • Delayed ejaculation
  • Retrograde ejaculation

Visit your doctor if you experience persistent ejaculation issues. Your doctor will discuss the case with you, examine you, and recommend you to a specialist.

Premature ejaculation

The most common ejaculation issue is premature ejaculation. It occurs when a man ejaculates too soon during a sexual encounter.

Premature ejaculations occur occasionally and are not dangerous. However, seeking treatment may be beneficial if you discover that roughly half of your sexual endeavors result in premature ejaculation.

Reasons

A man may abruptly have premature ejaculation due to various psychological and physical conditions.

These are typical physical causes:

  • Prostate issues
  • An overactive or underactive thyroid gland can cause thyroid issues
  • Taking drugs for recreation

These are typical psychological causes:

  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Concern about performance in bed

    Premature ejaculation treatment

Before seeking medical attention, you can attempt various things on your own.

Steps you can take on your own:

    • Masturbate for an hour or two before having sex
    • To lessen the sensation, use a thick condom
    • To briefly stop the ejaculatory reflex, take a deep breath
    • Engage in sexual activity with your spouse.
    • Throughout sex, take breaks and focus on something uninteresting

    Delayed ejaculation

    There are two categories:

    • Ejaculation takes a long time to occur
    • Being entirely unable to ejaculate despite the man’s desire and the fact that his erection is normal

You might have postponed ejaculation if:

    • You repeatedly and unintentionally encounter a 30- to 60-minute delay before ejaculation
    • At least 50% of the time you have sex, you can’t ejaculate

    The reasons for delayed ejaculation

Delay in ejaculation has psychological and physiological factors, much like premature ejaculation. Premature and delayed ejaculation may both have psychological causes.

    Physical causes include:

    • Diabetes ( type 1 diabetes)
    • Spinal cord injuries
    • Multiple sclerosis
    • Surgery to the bladder or prostate gland
    • Increasing age

    Treating delayed ejaculation

    sex therapy

Sex therapy is a type of counseling that incorporates both structured adjustments in your sex life and psychotherapy. This therapy can boost your enjoyment of the act of having sex and facilitate ejaculation.

You’ll be able to openly and nonjudgmentally address any emotional or psychological problems you may have with your sexuality or relationship during sex therapy.

    Retrograde ejaculation

A less common form of ejaculation issue is retrograde ejaculation. It occurs when semen enters the bladder via the urethra rather than moving forward.

The following are the primary signs:

    • Producing either no semen at all or very little semen during ejaculation.
    • Creating cloudy pee the first time you visit the restroom after having sex (because of the semen in it).

    Cause for retrograde ejaculation

Damage to the muscles or nerves surrounding the bladder’s neck results in retrograde ejaculation.

The most typical cause of retrograde ejaculation is bladder or prostate surgery. Other factors include diabetes, MS, and an alpha blocker drug class frequently prescribed to manage hypertension.
